The International Maritime Dictionary - IMD* is a Maritime English Dictionary on navigation, engineering, safety, communication, inland navigation, chartering, insurance and logistics. it is part of the International Maritime Language Programme - IMLP.
The IMD provides translations of English maritime-related idioms and expressions into the languages most frequently used in international seafaring and inland navigation: Filipino, Spanish, Chinese, Russian Arabic, French, German, Polish, Romanian and Croatian.
You can use the search application in your Windows-, IOS- or Android system and use the IMD as a bilingual lexicon. .
The IMD holds a separate “pictionary”, i.e. a dictionary on tools and devices, that explains the English names by means of pictures. The IMD also has separate sections on abbreviations and weights, volumes and measures.
